Im looking to make a repeater with my M1225 four channel, what kind of radios can be used with it, anything with a 16 pin connector or can you only use other M1225s?

Pretty much anything you can get discriminator audio and a COR signal out of. I have personally paired one with an M120, and one with an old Motorola "RF Link" unit, both used as crossband repeaters.

1225s make excellent repeater radios, particularly for the receive side as they have extremely sensitive recieve coupled with very tight squelch. You can pair them up with any radio your controller will normally handle, or if you're making a controller-less repeater, any other 16-pin radio.

Seeing as the M1225 is a good receiver, use it as the receiver.
Any Radius, GM300 or Maxtrac series radio can be used for the transmitter. The TX radio does NOT need the 16 pin connector, PTT
mic hi and mic low are available at the mic connector.
See:

The transmitter radio is on the right.

It will be a base/repeater, so using the mic plug on the TX radio is not an option, because it will be being used for the base mic.
