Does anyone know if an HT 1000 in the 450-520 mHz range can be programmed from 440- to 450 mHz.? I was just given one and I would like to be able to set it up on the amateur 70 cm. band. I may be reached at: [email protected]. Thanks, Denise N5VAQ

yep, no problem. Use the SHIFT key and top row of digit keys and you can enter 440-450 freqs no problem. The RSS will warn you that they are "out of range" but allow you to accept the entries.

Performance wise you won't see any degredation. I have had several MT2000 and HT1000 portables in the S split and all of them worked the US ham split fine.

Also works on the JT-1000....

I am running an MTS2000 with the S split. Is this possible to program down to the 400 range AFTER using the newest CPS? I do NOT want to toolproof this radio. Thanks, Ryan

EDIT: When I said the 400 MHz what I was hoping for was the 440 ham band.

doubt an S split will stretch that far. I know it will do 10-12 meg, but some folks have tried 403 stuff and it gave them the FAIL 001. I wouldn't count on much below 430.

10-4 never got a jedi in the "S" band to go below 440mhz with the Shift Key....

I can verify that it works like a champ on every HT1000 I've tried. Shift-key obviously won't work on a MTS2000 because the software architecture is different.

IF you have an older version of MTSX RSS and you'd rather bandsplit-hack that than the CPS, there is a way to retrograde a codeplug with MTSX Lab. And yes, it works on toolproofed radios, but the key here is to not change anything in the programming of the radio during the process.

Back the radio's s-record up before trying this.

1. Read the radio in Lab using regular F2 - Read Radio. Save the codeplug normally using F7 - Save Archive. DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING.

2. Open the codeplug with your normal RSS version of choice. Write it back to the radio using F8 - Program Radio. DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING.

3. Your MTS will now read and write normally with the regular RSS.
