Yes, you can convert a Visar to work on 902-928. After being told it wasn't possible, I did it. It is more trouble than it is worth, but it can be done. For my money, you can't beat the Kenwood TK481 for 900.

Can you give any more details?
What were the steps in the modification, what was the model# of the guinea pig, it may be more work then its worth, but i'm patient and like learning new things

I wrote a how to article for "Repeater Builder" and submitted it but haven't heard anything from them. Is there another place I could submit it?

Maybe I shouldn't have gotten rid of all my Visar gear! Thanks!

I converted one.... it wasn't too bad, and it works well. With the short antenna & low cap battery pack, it make s a nice compact rig. Do it, it was fun!

Like any other Jedi, some will work, some won't, & some will tx on 902 but not on 927. I have 3 900 MTS2000's. All 3 rx on 927, & all 3 tx on 902, but only 1 will tx on 927. While some people say there are ways around this, it's not that important to me that my Jedi's have talk around on 927. My GTX's & 9250 tx on 927 just fine. GARY N4KVE
