Model number?

Older MLM versions might have a limitation. There's a table of mode capacity in the Motorola/Spectra section on http://www.repeater-builder.com.

Some firmware lets you set limits on the numbers of conventional modes as well as trunking systems and personalities. Also, there's only so much memory to hold all this info; you may have to delete some trunking stuff to make room for conventional modes.

The C7 should allow both trunking and conventional modes. Deleting some trunking modes will give you room for conventional ones. There's a radio-wide configuration screen that will tell you how many modes are in use. On some radios, those fields are editable and you can raise the limits on the number of conventional model allowed.

In the radio wide config : MODES (max) 255 and the right column : MAX USER MODES 002 When I try to change it with arrows soft says : adjustment At MAXIMUM Value...

Try reducing the trunking fields above it. Someone may have set them to the maximum, leaving no room for more conventional modes.

If they won't reduce, you'll have to get rid of some trunking modes, systems, or personalities. That will free up lots of memory for conventional modes.

Wrong side of the page. The "max user modes" display just shows how many modes you have programmed into the radio, not how many the radio is capable of.

What you're looking for is on the left-hand side of the Radio-Wide screen, where it says Max Systems, Max Subfleets, and Max Conventional Personalities. If you can tab your cursor over those areas, you can decrease the number of trunking systems/subfleets and increase the number of conventional personalities. If not, then you're stuck with just 2.

Try powering the radio off, powering it back on, quickly pressing the HOME button 5 times, then pressing the Mode ^ button. The number that displays immediately after that is your MLM version. Anything above 5.42 should allow you to edit the sys/sub/conventional settings.

Ok I was wrong with the radio-wide configuration page side. I cannot change anything in the left side like max subfleet, max systems.

MAX SYSTEMS 01
MAX SUBFLEETS 01
MAX CONV MODES 001

So there is nothing to do? I only have 1 available conv channel?

If the firmware in the MLM is old enough, I'd say you're stuck with what you've got. The only way to increase the capacity is with another MLM with newer firmware.

As mentioned in an earlier post, go retrieve the firmware version and let us know what it is.

Well, that should be new enough. Perhaps someone has hacked stuff in the radio's memory to lock it into this state.

You've exhausted my capabilities! Maybe someone else will come up with the solution.

Ok thank you. I never had problems before to enable more modes in a spectra but this one sucks! :)
