XTS3K out of band

I have tried the batlabs method but, no luck.

I opened the astroport.exe file in HeX Workshop. I first tried the method of entering the frequency in Hz using the base converter etc (same method as listed on Batlabs) That did not work, it showed up some t...t or something in the right hand screen.

I then tried using the search feature and searched for 450, 136, 174 etc and came up with nothing. The only 146 I found was 146.2 in the PL area.

I then opened up a codeplug for a Model 3 450-520 and entered ham freqs 444.7 RX and 449.7 TX and saved the codeplug. It told me it was invalid and asked if I wanted to save it anyways, I did and it said it would not let me save it until the invalid values were fixed. It then gave me the option of viewing the invalid files.

Any ideas?

I am using Hex workshop ver 4.23 and ASTRO Saber/XTS3000 CPS ver. 5.00.02

I haven't tried it with the other band splits but for UHF you have to change two values on each end. For instance instead of just changing 470.000 you have to also change 477.000 - I would imagine with is true for all splits.

you need to make sure you select Intel unsigned long in the base converter. The frequency needs to be entered with six decimal places.

For example, to have a range 2 UHF go down lower you enter 450000000 in the base converter. Search for that hex string and then in the base converter enter 440000000 and copy down that hex number. Replace the hex string found in the search with the new one. Do this for each instance of the 450000000 search.

One thing I found is I have to do a save as and save the edited file as patport.new then rename the old exe to patport.old and rename the patport.new to patport.exe . Not sure why I just can't save but it works for me.

Hi George,

I've attempted what you said. Shoudn't I see the 45000000 or something similar in the right column?

The photo below shows what I typed into the base converter. I then searched for that hex string (the larger pic shows the results in yellow).

No, you're not going to see the frequencies displayed in ASCII like you would if you were editing Astro/MTSX RSS. CPS doesn't work that way.

You're on the right track, though. To be sure you've found the bandsplit table and not random code, convert some of the other bandsplit frequencies, search for them, and compare where they fall to the Batlabs tables. Like I said on Hamsexy, they're still valid, just not located at the same hex offsets.

Ok, thanks I got it working. I was thinking it would be more like RSS when editing it.

Hey GEMOTO, do you mind if you can post which hex you changed? I tried on my 5.00.02 and had no success :(

Thanks
