Problem hearing coversations spectra A5, Help????

I have a spectra A5 Model 900mhz and it has voice scrambler installed.
The problem is when I switched the scrambler to a different pattern i must have crossed a wire, Now When others are talking it just sound like a door opening and dead Air, I can still hear the beaps and other tones when pressing the volume button and mode switch,,
Anyone have any Idea what Happend??????
