Heres the diagram....

Basically I need to run the repeater with the TX going into the front mic jack, I also would like to put a base and mobile mic on the radio at the same time. My question is... when the repeater opens up will the mics open up too? Or will I have to unplug them when not in active use.

I have the black motorola desk mic and a CDM (black) style mobile mic.

Any ideas?

They all have their own PTT switch ... only the keyed mic will work.

If they are the correct model desk mic.
The black mobile mic does have the switch for the mic audio, and can be used.

Ok I just made it and when the Mobile Mic is keyed the desk mic audio does not open up, howeven when the desk mic is keyed the mobile mic does open up. Is there any to change this on the inside? A jumper put in or something?

Or do I just have to buy another desk mic?

Thanks

Your symptom sounds backward. The desk mic requires JU1 to be removed to prevent a "live-mic" situation in multi-mic hookups. The mobile type mic requires a switch closure (PTT) to pass audio out of it.

Two base mics may be better for you because of the following. I had a low modulation problem on a M1225 type base with several local remotes attached and found having left a mobile test mic plugged in during the install drained off the voltage a bit on mic hi (see schematic for reason). Would have never noticed the problem using a base mic as a tester.

Some mobile mics are mic hot all the time. Forget what models, but people reported this on the dual head quick mount systems.
I think that it was the early CDM mics that were hot all the time.
You could test this by grounding the PTT line and scratching your finger on each mic to see what mis has "hot audio".
