Notice how he left the serial # out completely? I bet money that it's 123ABC1234...
Same flash and DSP/Host as the 123ABC units.
$2200.00 for OLD firmware and a 123ABC1234 (not confirmed, but likely) serial # is way too much.

i kind of figured that what it was, being the ESN's are the same.

Not saying that they are bad radios as I have a MII 123ABC1234 sitting right here, but there is no way it is worth $2200.00 dollars.

Yep - towards the end of Panter88's XTS journey, he was selling the model 2 VHF 5000's for $500 which is what I reckon those radios are worth too.
Remember, They dont work with the current ASTRO25 CPS, You cant get them updated or reflashed....
Cheers,
Matt

I beg to differ on the CPS issue. The one I have has always worked on CPS. Even version 8. I got the CPS directly from mother M back when it was version 4.XX something and it worked then too.

Ahh ok,
I read somewhere that they gave a "Developmental codeplug" error.
Perhaps this is not the case...

I'm guessing that had to do with them trying to use too old of a version of CPS. Look for Hamptonbeaches posts. He had the same problem until he bought the real deal from Motorola.
Here's the one I'm talking about:

Ok, but...

Interesting, I know that there are problems with old firmware and new versions of CPS as per this post:

Not sure, but mine is definitely an alpha radio and I have never had problems with it.
I wonder if the guy tried to download the software from the net (bad dump)?
$265.00 for piece of mind for three years is okay with me.
Radio could have been programmed with version 8.00.01 and if he's trying to use 8.00.00, then he will more than likely get that error.
