Help with Radius M1225 and HT1250 Programming

I am on a small Vol. FD in east Texas and I am trying to get all of our radios reprogrammed with the new interoperability channels and I am having a problem with a couple of them. I have two M1225's that I can not read. My cable and RIB work fine with every other radio I have programmed (maratrac, CM300, maxtrac). However, no matter which version of software I use, I am getting an error message that my RIB or Radio is not turned on, or I have a cable problem.
The HT1250 is giving me the same messages...

Any ideas or help would be very appreciated....

What version and revision number of software are you using for each?

M1225 = Version 3.1

HT1250 = Professional CPS 06.04.00

Could be that the battery in the RIB doesn't quite have the voltage? I experienced a situation similar to yours with a couple of M1225s not too long ago, and replacing the battery worked out. Beyond that I've not got much else to offer.

Now that you mention it, the battery in my RIB is pretty old... But I never really thought about it since it worked fine with the maratrac and CM300's... But hey, I'll give it a try.. couldn't hurt to change the thing anyway..
Thanks for the input..

If anyone else has anything, please feel free to let me know... you never know it might work....

The version 3.1 1225 software will only work in Win 3.1/95/98. You will need version 4.0 if you're running Windows 2000 or XP. You didn't specify what OS you were using, so it's just for your information.

The HT1250 I can't really say what the problem might be, as it'll work on any Windows OS from 95 on up. If you're getting the "check connections" error and your RIB checks out, I'd look at the cable...as well as the COM setting in the CPS.

Thanks Todd...
I'm running XP, so I will see what I can do... As far as the RIB and cables... After attempting both the 1225 and the 1250, I programmed a CM300 and a maratrac.. So I know that my RIB and at least one of my cables was fine.. But who knows.. I am going to try the battery trick.. who knows right ???

Thanks for the input....

Also, you didn't specify what you're using for a RIB....is it a Motorola OEM or a lookalike? Some of the lookalikes have been known to work fine with some models of radios but not with others.

I have personally had issues with a Polaris RIB where it would not work on a M1225, but would work with everything else I threw at it. Replacing it with a Motorola RIB solved the problem.

I have had the same problem with both a Motorola and a Polaris RIB. I found that a few minutes on the charger solved the problem.
