WE just got in an analog, p25 FPP VHF radio. Am I doing something wrong or is there no way to drag and drop zones?

It looks like it comes with 240 fixed personalities and 15 fixed zones. All of the deletes are grayed out. It will not allow me do drag anything.

If I have to enter the 200+ Fire Tmac frequencies this could be a lifetime project.

What is the flashcode in your radio?

You cannot drag and drop, unless it's from another FPP, you cannot delete channels either, as you would have no way to FPP them back in place once done.

Ok, Thanks. It looks like I have do do it the hard way.

As to the flash, I took a long weekend to burn up some vacation time and I will not be back until Tuesday. I can post it then but the radio is pretty basic. Just conventional analog and P25. No encryption or trunking.

If you remember, post your flash when you get back and have time. I'm just curious to see if the radio has Q52, Q53, or both enabled at the same time, which I have seen cause problems in 5K's.

Every XTS5000 that I have seen that has had Q52 and Q53 in the flash at the same time, shows up in the CPS as having all 240 Conv Personalities and 15 Zones expanded and assigned with no way of adding or deleting chans. It's like they are fixed.

I have also seen that when you reflash the radio and remove Q53 leaving only Q52, you are able to add or delete as you want, and all 240 FPP chans and personalities are not fixed and expanded. You are then able to add as many conv personalities that you want, and your not stuck with the expanded 240 in the CPS.

Sometimes you might not want to use a conventional personality for each chan. Instead you might have a few chans that use the same scan list and the same signalling features that can all share 1 conventional personality instead of each chan having it's own.

The flash is 1000010001024. The sheet on the radio says Q806, H35,Q53. The Radio is H18KEH9PW7N.

This makes sense then. The fixed 240 chan issue is being caused by Q53. When the radio has Q52 only, it will not have the fixed chans and personalities.

I think Fire ordered the radio wrong. Good thing is was only one as a sample, not the entire $500K order.

Picking up from another thread, same topic, I have the same problem.

Flash: 160001-000102-8

Q52 & Q53

How do you remove one (Q53) from the flash? I suppose this involves a call to Moto for a corrected flash? I hate dealing with them.

Yes, it involves a re-flashing and leaving out the option that you don't want in the new flash.
