I have a High Power Spectra VHF drawer unit. The control head looks the same as a syntor x9000 head.

My question is I am trying to hookup a spectra siren/pa box (B version) with a DEK box. I have programmed
everything with the rss. When I power everything up control head works fine, the DEK box background lights are lit
and the radio functions normally.

The DEK box has the red light lit over the 2nd button from the left (Wail) and pushing any buttons changes nothing
on the DEK and no siren or pa sounds are heard.

This may be a bitbanged control head that is really a systems x9000 head.

1) How can I tell if this is really an enhanced spectra head or a x9000 head?

2) I have tryed a different DEK box, control head and VIP cabling with the same result and swapping the control head
and siren box cables to the opposite 25 pin connectors on the drawer unit also has no effect...

3) Also, different programming options in the rss have no effect either...

Any ideas ?

I presume you do have power going to the siren? It has its own set of wires... lots of people miss that.

Not having main power to the siren box would not produce his problem. Sounds like a programming or dek cable problem.
