Have a question on the new XTL2500 or the XTL5000
800 MHz mobiles. Can they do both the 3600 and 9600
control channel data rates?

In trying to do my homework, I haven't seen anything to
clearly state that they can do both. It seems like it is one
or the other with a flash upgrade. Can someone please
provide some clarity on this issue.

I would like to be able to have multiple systems in the
same radio. One system will have the old 3600 control
channel. The other system will have the 9600 control
channel rate. Not looking to do both at the same time.
Just change zones and go from one system to the other
with a manual selection.

Next question, can the XTL2500 be ordered with the O5
type control head? Again this is not clear in any of the
documents I have been able to look at.

The O5 head is slated to be available for the 2500, I am not sure if it is orderable or not yet. I would imagine that it is since its now available for the 5000.

The XTL2500 can do 3600/9600 in the same radio. Option number Q883 is the "3600/9600 interoperability" option. I am not sure how that differs from the 443/574/575 options in terms of features and limitations.
