Did any one ever have any experience with a gp-68? Never heard of them before, but i found one locally and wondering if they were decent or if i shouldnt bother. Im going to use it for mostly rx purpose. Thanks in advance.

Since most GP68s were not made for sale in the US market, most don't have FCC type acceptance numbers. Accordingly, very few parts are available from Motorola's US parts division. However, batteries are readily available from 3 or more second-source US suppliers(both NiCd and NiMH). With the above facts in mind, do you really want an [essentially] throwaway radio, especially if you expect to put it to rough public safety use?

There are a zillion GP-68 threads on this board. Do a search
and you'll find them.
The early GP-68s have an FCC type acceptance number on them.
The later units do not.
