Strange thing with KVL 3011DX and Systems Saber

Hi!

Does the KVL something wrong, or do I miss something?

Systems Saber III, NTN5763 hybrid, KVL 3011DX, multikey environment.

When I load the eight keys manually and put them into their slots 0 up to 7, everything is fine.

When I use the KVLs gload feature to load slots 0 up to 7 in one shot, the key 7 is the same like the key 0, they can hear each other when one radio selects key 0, and the other key 7.

Any ideas?

Thank you very much!

not sure about the older radios but with the new ones on receive the radio automatically searches the Keyslots in effort to decrypt the transmission regardless of which Key is selected for transmission encryption . This very well may not be the case with the System Saber , however.

I undestand that it is possible, but one has to use MDC to signal the key ID. This would not be an option at all, making radio response time slower, and annoying with the awful sound :-)

Are you mapping KVL key to slot in the radio as 0 to 0, 1 to 1, etc for this group?

I suspect Indexing is enabled in the target radio, which would reduce the key count to 8.

Yes, this is exactly what I am doing - maybe the numbering is somehow mismatching with the slots? 0 to 7 vs. 1 to 8?
