Not meaning to trash your job app but the wage scale is so much lower than Long Beach, CA. Is the cost of living so much lower in Florida?
We offer $60K for tech II jobs and we can not find anyone qualified.

I believe our cost of living is lower than CA, except for homeowners insurance where mine doubled this past year.
I'm just advertising and don't set the rates. A number of years back our
tech's were making about 20% less. They were finally brought up to a level that met most of the local shop's salaries, and with our lower cost than norm medical insurance and non-contributatory retirement where you vest in 6 years, it made the overall salary higher than the local shops.
Were not the highest but the benefits are very good, guess that's why I have been here for almost 20 years.

Is that 2000 to 0500 schedule correct? How long would it be before one could expect to see daylight?

I don't work there and I can guarantee that's correct. It's most likely because this job is apparently targeted at the County's transit system.
The busses most likely do not run late at night, so thats when the equipment is available to be worked on.
I agree that the salary is rather low for a supervisory position, and the requirements are a bit strict...
Interesting.
