SmartRIB's are used for flash programming portables, as well as standard programming.
Along with a FlashKey, the SmartRIB is used to make changes to a portable or mobile radios FlashPORT code string to change which features & options it has.
To the average radio user, it's useless as anything other than a standard RIB with a green light and a three-position switch.

Thank you for the infomation
My smartrib is for tetra (1999) radios?
How can I change the software in it ?
My smartrib is for 9600 bps, as I see at the label, can I use a simple terminal and open it via rs232, 9600bps,8,n,1 and change the options ?

Either you are confused or you have us confused. There is nothing to change in a smart rib. The data it outputs is controlled by the program talking to it, whether it be CPS or RSS or any other Motorola programming type software (flash upgrades, etc). It's smarts are self contained and there is no changing that.
