Wierd MT2000 Display Problem. . .

I had my MT2000 (A4 Top Display) radio in my car this afternoon thru this evening (3-9pm) and, it was cold outside, mebey around 0 with the wind chill, and about around 10 w/o and wind chill.
Anyways, when I got back into my car, the display looked like it had "Pepper" in it kinda; something that wasn't there before when I went into work. I turned it on right when I got into the car and was able to hit a repeater where I work no problem and RX it no problem, so there's no problem there at least.
Any idea if this is cold related (which is what I'm thinking), or if this is something totally un-related to coldness. It's been on and in my house for a good hour now. It's happening at the far top and bottom of the display, kinda concentrated in the center top/bottom. All actual LCD characters seem just fine.
