Hello, I was wondering if anyone could please decode some DTMF tones that I recorded from a radio transmission. It looks like im not able to upload the file, so if your able to decode DTMF from a WAV file, please send an e-mail to sfikfireresq3120(@)aol . com and I'll attach the file.
Or you can simply give me your e-mail addy on here and I'll send you the file.

I appreciate all the help! Thank you.

Do a google search for a free audio spectrum analyzer...there are tons of them out there. Audacity is a free audio editor with spectrum analyzer capabilities that might work for you. Then do a search for DTMF tone frequencies to figure out what tone pairs match up to each digit.

Or try this:

One would have to wonder why you would need this done? Looking to gain access to a feature that you aren't suppose to? Maybe use the local Amateur Clubs closed phone patch? :)

Note the :) in my message, don't take it the wrong way.

I'm a member of a fire department.

I'm just curious about finding out the DTMF tones for my departments toneout... I really don't get involved with any Amateur Radio Clubs, I don't find it all too interesting and I do not have any licenses for HAM, or GMRS. So no, it has nothing to do with Amateur Bands at all.

Thanks.

all you have to do is ask the system administrator. or if you have some older pagers with reeds in them just open the pager and read the tone frequencies off of the reeds.
