changing the SN of a codeplug

I’m having a bit of a problem figuring out how to program a Saber (system) with a codeplug from another radio.

Have had a saber radio for a while, bought another one same model and factory ID only difference is SN. Want to ‘clone’ the two radios without having to rewrite every page and enter all the data into the codeplug of the new radio.

Decided to just write the codeplug of first radio into second, all works just fine except the process changes the SN of the second radio to the same as the first. Now SN displayed when reading codeplug does not match ID tag on radio. :o

QUESTION: is there a way to edit the SN displayed on the codeplug file to match the target radio before I write the codeplug to the radio? I can’t find any method in the software program I have. (rO3.oo.2)

I haven't worked with system sabers at all, but my understanding is the software is very similar to the MTSX? If this is the case, you should be able to read your radio and go into the 'clone' screen. The should be an option to either read, or manually change the serial number of the "target" radio. Once you've changed it, back out of the screen & save the codeplug. It should save with the changed serial number. Then just write that saved codeplug into your radio.

Hopefully that works for you. Maybe I'm thinking of the Saber SI?

You can use the serial number tool, that comes along with Rooster.

I sure can't find anything in this version of the software that mentions cloning. (or on version RO4xxxx) am not sure about the ROOSTER option, can't find anything searching on this site that mentions it.
Guess i'll just have to rewrite the original codeplug and get the SN to match the sticker.

Rooster is not a part of the SysSaber RSS.It´s an old lab service software for the GM/GP1200 and MC/MT2100 radios. The data protocol and the place of the serial number,in the SysSaber codeplug,is identical with the Jedi radios.
