Maxtrac Sub-Board Identification?

Hello Everyone, I just got in a Maxtrac board HLN9313B (the 16 pin board). Inside the can is a sub board made by G/WIZ. Does anyone know what it is? What it does?

from what I can find it appears to be a device for eliminating the beeps and buzzes when listening to a GE EDACS system. It also appears that the G/WIZ technology rights have been aquired by Uniden for use in their scanners.

I remembe the old gee whiz burst-tone encoders in our old Regency Recap CAP radios!
