I just hooked uo my uht T34KEJ Syntor and I got Fail 01/90. I looked on Mike B's site and could not find what the 90 means. I am pretty sure it worked back in the summer. any would be appreciated. Thanks

Control head can't talk to radio deck. Make sure the radio deck has power, make sure the orange and green wires from the CH have power, make sure the remote cable is connected properly and not damaged.

the regular head for the x9000 is a 1033, i'm not shure what a 1041 is for? i think the 1055 is the trunked head and the 1063 is for a system 9000 and a 1073 is a spectra head but never heard of a 1041.

The 1041 head is an X 9000 head that don't have the DTMF on the right side ofthe head. we have those @ work on the 9000's. Steve

Fail 01/90 means the head is powered, but can't talk to the deck. I'd lean toward something being wrong with the deck, or a wire broken in the control cable. Those cables are getting mighty old and some are quite fragile... wouldn't surprise me to see one go intermittent from years of road vibration.

Well, I guess I will hook it up in the truck tommorow and see if it works. the cable I used today is my test cable. Steve

Long story short: Serial bus failure.

Quickest thing to check: Big red A+ lead. Make sure the fuse isn't blown.

After that, swap head.

Failing that: follow the troubleshooting flowcharts.

Just about any head will work on an X9000 provided it hasn't been trunked. If so, replace, clean out or initialize the EEPROM and start over.

The 1063 and 1073 will work with the X9000 IF they have not been initialized as a Spectra head.

if they have, follow the Mike procedure for clearing the Spectraization and you can use the head with the X9000.

Hi All, Well I got the X9K working. I had installed a HLN5317A with the ribbon cable, well I hadn't powered it up since, so I took the board out and it works. it gives an error code of 08/10 which is the siren, anyway the radio works. thanks to all that replied...
