Mounting antenna with sunroof

Just a quick question. I would like to finally permanent mount my VHF antenna onto my truck. It's a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The truck has a sunroof. I would like to mount the antenna dead centered in the roof for optimal performance.

2 Questions

Is this possible with the sunroof? It's the type that goes into the roof when open, not out and above. Is there usually room for these?

And is there an increase of RF exposure and is it not good? Or would this cause an abnormal RF pattern with a 1/4 wave antenna?

Anyone with experience can help me out?

Becuse of the way the sunroof is mounted in the roof. the sunroof tracks and motor are under the headliner. the only way to tell where you can is to actually get a look under the headliner. You may have to mount the antenna pretty far back on the roof. Ive mounted antennas almost to the back hatch.

it don't have to be dead center, move it towards the back. if it's a 1/4 wave antennae just leave at least 16 inches from the back for a good ground plane. if it's a 5/8 wave leave at least 2 feet.
