CDM 1250 Remote Head Problem

Post by RVC Truckie »

I installed my t-band CDM-1250 in my 05 Dakota with an external head. When I first installed the remote and powered up everything worked fine. After I powered down the radio and turned it back on the display went blank. The radio definetly turns on and I can hear the audio, but it is real low and there is no control from the radio head of any of the functions, ie. volume, power on,, channel up/down. I checked the ribbon connections and they seem to be tight. I would appreciate any help .. Thanks

I'd say either the board wasn't seated all the way in the head (has to be in there right for the display to make contact) or there's a problem with your cable. Probably the first one.. that board is barely held in there, very easy for it to pop out while you're putting the back on the head.

I second Jack's first answer, seen that happen right from the factory. Usually when that happens you will hear the power up beep and low audio from the speaker but have no display and no control what so ever.

Happens all the time, if you see 1/2 numbers or letters reset the boards. You should hear a very noticeable click when they are seated correctly.
