Ok, I've got a D43ZXA5JC7AK black label.
VHF Trunking Spectra low power radio with A7 enhanced head.
It's set up for 6 trunking modes...
I don't do trunking.

SO... how to program this guy up for simple conventional ops?

I had a VHF 100w HHCH that I converted to an A7 enhanced, but it didn't trunk. Can I clone it to this radio without blowing it out? If not, I need to know how to disable trunking options.

thanks!

There's an article on http://www.repeater-builder.com, Motorola area, Spectra section, that's called Miscellaneous Spectra Topics. That might give you enough information to get rid of the trunking modes.

A C7 radio should be able to do both trunking and conventional; the exact number of each depends on the firmware version in the radio. The less trunking modes and personalities you have, the more room there is for conventional modes. The Spectra "home" page at the above site has a table showing the number of modes vs two letters of the model number.

What version is your MLM? If you have a newer version, such as 6.15 or 6.16, you can bitbang the radio into doing VHF Trunking. I've done this before and it works no problem.
