Motorola Latest Firmware

Hi All,
I am wanting some help with a few issues
Firstly, one of my Motorola GP380 radios has a fault which I cannot determine is hardware of a software (firmware) problem.
The potentiometer on this radio seems to be faulty, having powered up the radio the volume varies up and down without the volume knob being altered.
Does this radio require a new potentiometer or a flash-upgrade to cure the problem??????? Answers on a postcard please....
Second is my GM360 mobile, after 10 minutes of use the radio on rx audio emmits what can only be described as 'echo-type' feedback noise just masking out and commentary that tried to come through. This plays up on all channels not just 1.
Are these both firmware issues that anyone knows of, or easy fixes
All help is appreciated!
