How to change Jedi knobs?

I've got an A7 MT2000 here with a crooked ch knob, and an HT1000 parts radio with nice knobs that I can salvage the knobs from. I believe the HT1000 knob parts should work on the MT2000, as it appears that the HT1k knobs do have the concentric switch present.

Anyways, how would I go about switching knobs (the actual pots assembly), if possible?

Won't work as you're missing the concentric switch and the flex is a little different (for the concentric contacts).

It will work, the controls on an HT1000 has the concentric switch on the channel pot. I've used HT1000 top controls for donors many times in the past, and the 2 position concentric worked every time when installed on an MT/MTS.

Alrighty, got it to work just fine. A friend walked me thru it and I got it done.

The assembly's are the same. The HT1000 knob just is larger, so it does not leave a spot to control the switch.

The 2-4-8 channel HT1000 really only have a different sticker on top, and a different knob - that has a rubber stopper in it. You can cut out the rubber stopper and get to all 16 channels.

You can then adjust the code plug so you have 16 channels instead of the original two channels the radio came with.

It's great fun when you buy the REX kit that gets you the new labels and front cover for the HT1000's - take the spare 2-4 channel knobs and drop them on a friends HT... see how long it takes him to figure out why he can't get past channel 2.

Alex, that's cruel.

I can't wait 'till my "HT1000's are the bomb" friend comes by *evil grin*.
