hi all..i am in need of some expert advice again !!!(it doesnt happen very often)...there is a guy selling some gp380 radios( ht1250)
on ebay.. he tells me they are all low band(30-50 mhz)
although i know they only available in 29.7-45 and 35-50 bandsplit
would either of this type be pulled down a bit (ie 29.5)
i do have cps for this radio v 03.02.01
i cant seem to find a definative answer on the forum
thanks a lot for reading

this has been discussed on here many, many, many times and the answer is no, you can not take any of the waris radios past their band limits. that information is stored in the firmware in the radio now, not in the cps. so that person is lying, just one radio can not do both splits.

In the US (at least) no one has (or has told anyone) how to get them out of band. Some people have been able to get CPS to go out of band, but the radio won't take them.
So, as far as I know, your stuck in the split that you get the radio in.

As for GP380, their bandsplits ARE NOT stored in flash memory,
and therefore can be modified.

oh ok thats very good !!! so i can programme them slightly out of band!!
infact it does say that on this site .. i have opened up gp300.exe with my hex editor so if i change the lower band edge to 029500000
that should get me atleast the 10m fm calling chan !!!
cheers for that info

Yes you can do it.You have to use the lab flashtool and program the radio
with a lower bandsplit codeplug.
