I have just setup a UniDirectional Repeater using a rick. Everything works good except the Repeated Audio is a little low, i plug a Mic into the TX radio and it is really loud; is there a adjustment on the rick that can adjust transmit audio? I don't keep the mic plugged inot it as i did a search and one lab'r said that keeping a mic with a Led on it will lower the volume also. Just need to increase ausio a little.

Thanks

Mike

You need to make sure you have Microphone shorting plug in both radios. I think this will solve your problem.

If you have a microphone plugged in when the radio keys up you can also recieve ambient room audio from the microphone.

Adjust R23 in the RICK and if that doesn't give you enough move the jumper inside your TX radio I'm assuming your using a GM300. Its jumper JU651 move it from low to high. You may have to go back into the RICK after the jumper move and re-adjust R23

you may want to check your channel spacing too and make shure they are all set ot wide or narrow, whichever you are using.

I'm using 2 VHF M120's One 40 watt one 25 watt If that makes a difference. I also have Shorting plugs in both radio's.

Ok Gang, i just checked R23 and it is turned all the way so i cannot get any more audio from that. My next step is to adjust the jumper JU651 inside radio inless somebody has any idea's

Mike

P.S. what does R24 do on the Rick, it still has some adjustment left in it. If i planned on doing any more of these i shurely would invest in the RICK manual.
