PR1500 Questions

Question # 1: I have my PR1500 programmed for the PTT ID , but the tone is long. I would like a shorter tone, so I don't have to wait so long to speak. Is it possible to program a short PTT sidetone when transmitting. My Moto dealer said its only programmable with the long tone.

Question # 2: Is it possible to program the PTT ID tone at a preset volume, so I don't get this screaming tone when I key up the radio.

Thanks.

Why don't you set the PTT ID to "Post" instead of "Pre" so that the ID is transmitted when you unkey?

That would solve both your problems.

As far as the volume of the PTT ID sidetone, that should be adjustable in the RSS... Try changing the "Alert tone volume" to a fixed level, something more comfortable.... If it's set to 0db, it's going to track the volume knob.

I know the PR1500 will supposedly take a HT1000 antenna. What size or kind of thread is the HT1000 antenna? Also, will the antenna model #RAD4194A work on a PR1500.

yes it will, it's the vhf stubby. performance will go down a small percentage but it won't damage the radio.
