Would like to know what type of radio it fits or if it can be used on a spectra?

it's for syntor x9000.

these are getting VERY old (20+ yrs) so you might want to make sure the VFD (display) is functioning before you put too much time in it.

you can change these over to spectra by replacing a chip inside the control head.

dig around here:

http://www.open.org/~blenderm

clearly the best site ever for the syntor series radios.

I would not waste my time on a 1033A because if it is lacking the updates, it's subject to lots of RFI problems and other issues that are prevelent in the earlier models of control heads.

You cannot upgrade the processor in it because of the way it clocks and drives the power supply for the display. It's different than the 1033B and later versions, thus not interchangeable without several parts changes on the display board.

Basically put, if it is working, use it on an X9000. If not, shitcan it.

You will be far happier using a 1045, 1063 or 1073 control head on your Spectra.
