Astro Keyloader Question

My understanding is that the Motorola T3011DX KVL will load DES OFB keys in the P25 radios. Is this correct? Anything weird I need to know? Limitations? If this is the case; it would seem that spending a huge chunk of $$$ on a KVL3000 would be a waste of money, unless you use AES...
Your thoughts?

You are correct, the 3011DX will load AS1's XTS3K's XTS5K - just won't do AES.

Hightower is correct.
You also need to make sure that PID (Physical ID) Key management is enabled in the codeplug or the keyloader wont talk turkey to the radio
Cheers,
Matt

I believe as long as PID management is enabled, any Astro25 product can be loaded by a DX KVL. Sure works on my XTS 5000.

AFAIK this is true, the 3011DX does all the DES stuff that is around.
