XTS3K Error code

Post by wireless »

I have a XTS3000R, that when turned on gives me FAIL 01/82.
it is a Flashcode String 500008-000000-1

D12 B1 Q806/G806 Q806/G806 APCO 25 Digital CAI/IMBE Operation
D12 B3 H14/G114 H14/G114 Digital ID Display
D7 B4 H38/G51 H38/G51 SmartZone Operation

I have the original Codeplug and the Current codeplug.

I have tried reloading both without success using CPS R04.01.03
I have tried reading the unit and it gives me an error message of unable to open the comm port. When I try loading it, it acts like it is trying to load, triggering the test mode etc, but then goes to the fail code.

Astro Tuner will read the unit and gives me the proper model and SN along with codeplug version 12.

Does anyone know - is ther a simple fix or is this a DePot issue?

THANKS!

01/82 is the External EEprom CheckSum failiar. If you write the original codeplug to the radio, that should have fix the problem.

Got the radios srecord 8)

Tried that....
using R04.01.03 for the XTS3K I tried loading the original Codeplug that came with the radio, and the current Codeplug that was in use. - neither would load.

I tried writing from the upper tool bar, cloning and the wizard.... in full and limited mode.... (using a SmartRIB [RLN1015C] with the switch in both I and XP positions)

Each time the radio would show "TEST MODE" then immediatly went to FAIL 01/82.
I tried to read the radio and it told me that it could not read as it was unable to open the COMM Port.

Just to make sure it was not my cableing tired another radio and was able to read and write without any issues..... it Went into Test mode, CSQ1, loaded the information and reset....

Any other suggestions? Tricks? [or want to try?]
THANKS!

It depends on exactly where the codeplug corruption resides...I've seen cases that could be rectified by writing a good codeplug with regular RSS/CPS. More often, I've seen it require LAB to force the codeplug in & rectify the problem. Sometimes, even that doesn't work & the depot needs to fix it.

Well unfortunatly after several attempts (Using 2 different computers - 1 ZP, 1 DOS/WIN98) with the original codeplug and the one supplied by Motorola during its original setup the unit is NOW giving me a "Fail 01/92".....

And I don't have "LabTool"....

So unless someone has any other suggestions, looks like I may have a BRICK until I can do something else with it.....

THANKS!

FAIL 01/92 means send it to the depot or use labtool.

Unfortunately there are no other suggestions short of buying a new controller board.
