Looking for infromation on the CRT in the R-2200 specially the tube number such as AEG ######, or if any one has a source for the tube. Is it the same as the 1200 series CRT ?

Thanks,

Thanks for the info. I have dealt with auburn Metrology before.

I was really looking for the AEG ### to see if a tube that was available would work.

IIRC the D7=201GH was the R1200 CRT and the D7-231GH was for the R2200. Although they are similar, they are different tubes. Using the wrong tube results in a distorted display.

The parts list in the scope module section of the R-2200B service manual, 6881069A69, says:

V1, 96-80377A04, tube: CRT; type D7-201GH or D7-231GH

So Dave, if your experience is that the manual is wrong [wouldn't be the first time] and that the D7-201GH does not work properly in the 2200 series, that advice could save someone from a real disappointment.

I was both right AND wrong. The R1200 CRT is the D7-200GH.

The R2200 used the D7-201GH (96-80477A04) which was later replaced by the D7-231GH (01-80355A10 I think but it's been a VERY long time since I've worked on these and ordered one). However, the main point of my post was correct. The CRT from the R1200 and the R2200 although physically the same, are electrically different.

Thanks Dave, there's nothing like listening to the voice of experience to help avoid future problems!
