I working on a project that will use Troy faceplates in a custom console. Measured width is 8 9/16" x 1", 2", 3", 4", 5", and 6" tall.

The question is does anyone have an engineering print showing the center to center distance of the mounting rail holes?

I looked through my Troy distributor package - no joy.

The only thing I saw was the outside dimension of the console, which was listed at 8 7/8". The rails are sold seperately as a kit, so they can be replaced once the faceplates have been changed around a few times and the holes stripped out.

Thanks - The console will have tapped rails, so the dimensions begin to get critical after the second faceplate.

Side note - Is there a chart somewhere that lists faceplate openings? I have a family memeber in the USCG auxilary & he wants to put a marine radio in his Troy console. It's not listed on the Troy website as "supported"

You can try looking at JottoDesk faceplates as well. They have a couple of oddball ones that I wouldn't have thought to be available. Their faces and Troy's are 99% of the time cross compatible.

You know, you could email Troy and see if they'll give you the information. I don't have any rails sitting around here, otherwise I'd offer to send you one.

What radio is he trying to fit? The list of faceplates on the Troy website is 2-3 revs old. I can check my list and see if they have one that's close. I know it's taking a risk, but I have sent them actual control heads before, and they have sent me back the stock faceplate that fits the best.

Troy WILL custom build a faceplate for you, but they'll charge you extra for it.

It might be worth looking into some Havis stuff too. Since Jack Stewart 'left' Troy and went to Havis, I've seen more and more Havis stuff to start looking like Troy stuff.

It's actually John Stewart. He left Troy to start his own comapny Stewart Products before flopping and going to Havis. I've known him for many years but I have serious doubt about his integrity in this industry and have avoided him for that reason.

If you have a Troy cataloge, you will see that there are dimensions for the faceplates that you could try and find if one fits quite close to it. If not, ask for Bebe. She's a real doll and yes, they do charge for the making of a new faceplate but who knows, maybe it's something that they would like to have in their database and cut a little slack or something.
