Is there a way to set the "Standby Chirp" for low battery on an ASTRO Saber to not occur while it's receiving audio? I like keeping it configured, as I don't transmit often, but like the audible reminder that the battery's getting low. But it has an uncanny knack for chirping at precisely the worst second, resulting in me hearing things such as, "I need a CHIRP CHIRP out here right away!" Is there an option I'm missing that would allow me to configure it to only give the low battery standby chirp when there's no audio? And if not, do people just keep Standby Chirp off?

Not that it may be too helpful, but I almost never ever hear this chirp on my radios - because I do under almost no circumstances let run my batteries that flat! In my opinion nothing is worse than a radio that fails on transmitting due to a flat battery...

The setting should be under radio wide (I think). A couple of options are available, timing should be one of them.

I use my XTS3000 at work (Sheriffs Office) and even though my radio is only on when i am out of the car and can normally get an entire 12 hour shift out of a battery and then some, i still carry a spare with me and I charge the battery while i am off.

I recommned getting an impres system if you haven't. That will keep the battery at maximum capacity for a longer life span.

As far as the chirp. I rarely hear mine unless i want to run the battery near dead to cycle it.

But dont ever let it run too dead or the polarity will reverse and then you'll be in a pickle.
