difference between cdm 1250 and 1550

whats the difference between features and options for the cdm1250 and cdm1550

non ls models, 1250 have 64ch, 1550 has 160ch and the 1550 can decode mdc emergency signal. the 6an 1550's can do all 160 conventional channels and the trunking systems. 1550's have a couple extra menu buttons. and i think that's about all. both are capable of the same output power and have the same display and acessory connectors. the biggest thing is that the 1550 has more than double the channels.

the 1250 never had LTR trunking capabilities, so that is probably the biggest difference in the two. i think this is probably the biggest misconception about the 1250

That's because the "HT" family has the same numbering scheme for their model lines, and different capabilities....hell, i've done it a couple of times recently.

People think a CDM 1250 / 1550 have the same differences as a HT 1250 / 1550 etc...
