I am looking to purchase a RIBless canle for my Maxtrac 300, I am looking at one on Ebay (see link beloow for specific auction). I am curios is anyone has purchased this brand of cable and if it is reliable. Or if someone could aid me in locating a low cost reliable cable for Maxtrac. It would be nice if it could also work on the CDM model radios as I am looking to purchase one of those in the near future. I am rather new to this so I do not want to try and build one, but would purchase a reliable, low cost cable.

the answer to one of your questions is yes, it will work on a cdm also. and as far as your other question, in my opinion low cost usually means low quality and as far as getting one off of ebay you never know if you will even get what you see in the picture. but on the other side this guy has sold alot of things and he has pretty good feedback. and i guess at $10 it's disposable if it quits working next year.

If your any good at making cables, it is easy to make one of these
cables. Go to batlabs.com and find the diagram for it.

I have made a number of these cables from some telco
RJ45 cables. Just put the DB25 connector on the other
end and match up the colored wires to the pin it needs
to go to.

Well, I am not any good at making cables and I would prefer a ribless cable (fewer peices to have to worry about). I would not use it very often as I am sure some of you do. that is why I am looking for a cheaper item. If I was going to use it on a daily / weekly basis I would want high quality of course. I am basically just looking to get a good, decent quality ribless cable for an afforable price. I am still looking if anyone has any suggestions.

I have used those cheap cables from ebay and they work fine. I have the one that has the gp300 part too. Make sure you have a slow computer to use it with.
