I was wondering if anyone knows how to make TX inhibit work with an Astro Spectra being used as a base? In the programming under ignition switch I selected TX inhibit and the other option is PTT TX inhibit and im not sure how to make this work. Thanks

There are two types. PTT Inhibit prevents you from transmitting by using the PTT. TX Inhibit however, prevents ALL types of transmissions, including PTT, Affiliations, Call Responces. Using TX Inhibit will prevent your radio from transmitting ANYTHING, for any reason.

Thanks for the info but my main question is how do I get the TX inhibit to work? I have the TX inhibit enabled under ignition switch in the settings and the radios ignition wire is hooked up the positive side of my 12 volt power supply and I can still transmit. Thanks

Turn off the power supply, that should do it! :D :D :D

Or you could wire a switch in to kill the ignition power.

Im either missing something in the programming or im doing something wrong. If I hook a kill switch up to the ignition wire or disconnect it the ignition wire the radio cuts off and then theres no point in having TX inhibit. I don't want the the radio to TX when its powered on so what am I missing or doing wrong? Thanks

If you are using a W4/5/7 head, you must make sure that JU1 is installed, and JU2 is removed on the control head board. Then the radio will function as desired.
