Has anyone figured this out. Did a search and came up eiht nothing. I have tried all of the different mods listed for other RSS and CPS packages but nothing has worked to date.

Which version of RSS are you using? There is no CPS AFAIK for the 3K5...

Which band endge and how far are you trying to go?

Sorry, I typed CPS accidently. I am using the lastest version available from Motorola. I am attempting to put 444-449MHz frequencies into a radio that covers 450-520MHz.

it was my understanding that the hacks on the main site has some genertic information that will allow you to modify the RSS to allow out of band programming.

note this will be just a guide -- but it applies to most all of the ODB/pharlap versions of rss.

Hi Doug,

Thanks for your reply. I have tried using the procedures listed on the main site but have had no luck in doing so. I have tried the procedures listed for every radio on the XTS3500 and have had no luck. I have also searched through every file in the RSS for the bandsplits using "450", "450000000" and converting that to hex etc. I just can not find where the bandsplits are. I have also tried 136, 520, 174 and 403 as well.

You didn't state which RSS you're using so I haven't spent any time testing this, but you could try changing the value 35h to 34h at the following location offsets in the runtime.odb file (good for RSS Version R02.00.03):

1A369
1A3C9
1A3D5
1A5B5
1A615
1A805
1A865

This should lower the 450 band edge to 440 MHz.

I have R02.00.03. The above mod worked perfectly. I could not find the 35H and 34H values. They cant be hex (0-9 and A-F). I looked at the location offsets and in the text box on the right pane I saw the 450.000 listing.

Thanks for the help guys, I appreaciate it.

35 and 34 are the hexidecimal values of the ASCII 5 and 4 characters, respectively, so by changing the ASCII values from 5 to 4, you changed the hex values from 35 to 34.
