On call / busy light

Does anyone know of a product out there that will monitor the call recorder outputs (voice audio) from a CIE box and activate an ajustable timed light? We want to use this to indicated that the operator is on a call, the reason we want to use the audio lines is so it will work when the operator is on the phone or the radio.
Thanks

No one has replied yet so I'll jump in. I did this once years ago to a T-1600 remote. Added a lamp to alert a partly deaf person of radio traffic.
Anyway, you'll need a VOX board. Ramsey electronics have a cheap kit you can put togrther in 10 or 15 mins. I have used them before and surprisingly, no probs. Connect output to a relay and you can drive a light or whatever. You may have to pad down the input as these are made for microphone levels. The light will go on and off with audio. If you would like the light to stay on for a little while, hook VOX to a timer board. I like the ELK-960. I buy them a hometech.com. No plug and play stuff I know of, but a little custom engineering could provide what you want. I don't know your technical expertise, but anybody with rosin stains around their nostrils could whip this up.

I used a "stick-on" module to operate a relay & strobe on an Astro Spectra using the speaker connection. There was too much audio clutter in the area & had an urgent need to alert the staff that there was traffic on this particular radio.
