I have a VHF MTR2000 that will not tune on frequency.
It is off by about 5khz on tx and a bit deaf.
Is the main oscillator on the control board or on the exiter module.
I need to order the right one.

Hello Bruce,

You pretty much troubleshot the oscillator reference down to the correct area.

Here’s the component that you’ve requested (IC) U5502 Part # 5184726T02 Reference OSC Module on the Station Control Module. The CLN1201A SCM feeds a 2.1 MHz signal to both the Exciter and the Receiver. Personally I’d order a CLN1201A FRU, swap the SCM and sent the defective one into the /\/\ / CTDI Infrastructures Depot Operations in Elgin, IL for a Flat Rate Repair.

I tend to agree as it is only $936 from MOL.
I dont have the depot manuals which I will order at the same time
That why I wanted to know wether or not to order the controller or the exiter. I sort of guessed the controller unless the rxer had its own on board one but then if so there would be an alignment sheet.

I may have a 800Mhz controller i can drag out.
is the firmware plug in like the quantars or does it have to uploaded.

basicly can I use my 800Mhz controller in my VHF station.
I wonder if I just try and dump the codeplug into it.

Hi Bruce,

I don't recall any differences between 150, 450, 800 or 900 Mhz Station Control Modules. There all plain Jane generic modules, at least they were in /\/\ factory's final test area 2-1/2 years ago. The only difference would be the software programming configuration. Besides you'll be time ahead by swapping your own spare.
