Anyone know what I'm doing or not doing when it comes to setting up a MC2500, with a cdm1250 as the base radio.

Everytime the portable or mobile radios keyup I get that short fast telephone type ring, I beleive its called preamble but not for sure.

How can I mute this sound through the console, like its muted through the base where we only here the radio traffic and no ring?

So it would seem you have MDC enabled on the field radios in your system. What you want to do is disable all MDC functions in the CDM1250 base, so it's just passing the raw audio to the MC2500. In the MC2500 programming, you need to set-up and enable an MDC system, and set the mute timing long enough to mute the data burst before it'll open up the speaker for the rx audio.
