I recently aquired and installed 6 moto analog VHF spectras, all are SECURENET capable. What exactly am I "securing" when I press the button? Is this supposed to be a form of encryption? When I turn on the securenet on one radio I can still TX and RX on all radios wether or not any other radio's securnet is turned on or not, it seems like its not doing anything. I am new to this so any help is appreciated. Thanks, Dave

Securenet is Motorola's term for encryption. Capable radios need to have crypto modules installed into them and then properly programmed via RSS. Older radios like the Spectra lose their keys after being powered down (as in the power completely removed from the radio) for more then a few minutes and would require keyloading using a key variable loader (KVL or commonly keyloader).
