I need an S-record and codeplug for an XTS3000 VHF Model I with IMBE. Nothing too fancy - just conventional, MDC, and Scan. Codeplug Supersite doesn't have anything for a model I, and definitely no s-records.

The flashcode shows this: Q241/G241 ASTRO Ready (Analog Operation Only) Doesn't that mean that it CAN do IMBE, if it has the proper S-record blown into it? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Any scorn will result in a harsh voodoo and/or gypsy curse being congured up against the transmitter of said scorn, as well as his entire family.

No. Your DSP is an "A" DSP, meaning analog only. The only way to make your radio do IMBE is to have the DSP reflashed with an N or I revision. That's why the IMBE uplift is about $675... that process actually dumps the DVSI IMBE codec into the DSP. If you haven't paid the $675, you haven't paid DVSI's licensing fee, thus no IMBE codec for you.

Replacing the vocon is a viable option.

While this is technically correct, it is common practice to refer to the board that the DSP resides on as a vocon, regardless of whether or not it is a seperate board from the controller.

Again, if we assume for the moment that vocon in this case refers to the board that the DSP is on, then no, replacing the controller board would not be necessary.
