Has anyone used an IBM 701cs notebook as a programming computer? If so, any success or problems. The 701cs is the model with the butterfly keyboard. I would be using RSS only, with a real M rib.
Thanks Tim

I have never used that particular model. That one is a little more unique than the Standard IBM 701 Thinkpad. It should be OK for most of the later RSS. The computer should be a 486 or Pentium 75. While most never RSS releases will work fine with this setup, I would not try any of the much older programming software. (ie. X9000, MCX1000 and others)
Good luck, but should not have any problems with this one.

I cannot address the compatibility of that laptop directly, but there are probably no longer support files at IBM, not Lenovo. However, this site has most of the files, drivers, etc, for the older Thinkpads. You need to read the text file to find out which files apply.

go to "mobiles"

and start by reading "00index.txt" at the top
