XTS5000 RECASEING

8) I JUST GOT A REFURB KIT FOR MY XTS, DOES ANYONE KNOW THE BEST WAY TO PUT THIS ON AND IF I NEED ANY SPECIAL TOOLS, IS IT ANYTHING LIKE RECASEING A MTS

does anyone know how do you get the volume knob and channel selector off

The knobs themselves can be pried off (gently!) with a small flathead screwdriver. If you've ever worked on an analog Saber, they're very similar. Just make sure what you're prying on is the outer rubber knob and not the plastic insert, otherwise you're liable to damage things.

Instructions for removing the plastic inserts are in the .pdf file.

I have found my teeth are a good tool for removing the knobs as well.

Whoever designed those knobs needs to be drug into the street and shot

the ht1250 case and knob removal tool works awsome for the knobs on XTS. i will post the part # later after work

It's the best way to remove em.
