I guy I program radios for has recently came across 2 Motorola Spirit HP's...from what he described, they basically look like a 10ch SP50, only it has "SpiritHP" on it. I've never heard of 'em.

Can they program with SP50 RSS? Did they come with pre-programmed frequencies like regular spirit radios?

Thanks for any help!

yep, they are SP50's with a different escutcheon. They read and write with standard SP50 RSS. They did IIRC come preprogrammed with DOT channels

Yep, there SP50+ (compact version). VHF came with red and purple dot
repeated thru the whole 10 channels just with different PL's. UHF's came Yellow and Brown dot. Basically they pre-loaded SP50+ radios so they could be sold by retailers without programming capabilities (like Grainger).
Only difference as mentioned above is the escutcheon and there is 1 character different in the extended model# but it's recognized by SP50 RSS just fine. Rated for 4 hours on high power 5/5/90 service so if you want a whole day out of them go low power or look for some aftermarket
hi cap Ni-Mh.

Actually, these WERE from Grainger. The guy I program stuff for works there, and said he found them one day. I wonder why Grainger needed 'em. (idk what they even make/produce).

They are a business-to-business supplier.

They sell supplies that businesses need to operate.

For example: earplugs, tools, etc.
