Multikey in Flashcode = Hardware-Equipped?
Is it possible/common for someone to have ordered an ASTRO Saber flashed for Hardware Multikey Operation (H869/W969), but not include the corresponding hardware module?
In other words, should a radio with a (legit) Flash including multikey operation include an encryption module, assuming it hasn't been removed?

It's a stupid combination, I agree, but I also discovered long ago that many, many people do stupid things on a consistent basis.alex wrote:It would be stupid to order that feature and not equip the radio.

What I'm actually wondering about is what's 'in the field'--has anyone seen such a Flash without the hardware module?
Yes - but only from people removing it... 9/10 it is a good indication that there is a module of some sort in there - Multikey is a very expensive option.
A more common problem is radios equipped with hardware UCM's that arent flashed for any algos.. (A blank secure board is only $200 or so whereas each alog is around $800 IIRC)
Cheers,
Matt

AES AND DES ARE NOT CCI's - YOU CAN EXPORT THEM IF YOU WANT - Wassenaar Arrangement

9 times out of 10 not ERROR 09/10
You guys need to get out more!
