I'm in the process of trying to purchase 80 portables for a public saftey agency. The local dealer has advised us that HT1250's have been discontinued and they recommended a PR400 in its place. Can anyone advise if this is true or if I should look for another dealer. Thanks

I'm looking in my MOL catalog and I see HT1250 UHF radios up the yingyang. I have not heard any rumblings about them being discontinued (I have heard about the HT750 being discontinued though).

The PR400 is not a comparable radio, it's built on an entirely different (and cheaper platform) and does not offer the same features of the HT1250.

MOL says they are still order-able, but with a ten day lead time. Had they been discontinued, the line would have been red-flagged.

Look for another Dealer.Have not heard or seen a intent to cancel notice.
Don't go with PR400,the accessory jack is 2 prong on the side and it sucks.Same as CP200.Also would not recommend it for Public Safety, unless they are Meter Maids or traffic directing Fire Police.
Moto Dealer Support just confirmed no intent to cancel right now.
Tony was right on with 10 day lead time right now also.

Also 1250 gives you better choices of accessories.Vehicle charger, headsets, remote mics and other good stuff. Also the Impres battery options.

I appreciate all of those who have replied. I have felt for a long time that this dealer was not trustworthy and their support and service/installations were sub-par. This has confirmed it for me. Thanks again for the responses
