Hello folks.

I've got spare MTX8000 here, bad PA deck or somethin', but has a good logic board. I was thinking...would I be able to "Lab" the LB into a VHF MT2000 or MTS2000, and then use that LB in a VHF HT1000 of mine, utilize the A/B/C switch for zones, and thus have a whorey 48chl HT1000? (obviously saving tuning data, etc). Or am I lost in a pipe dream?

Thanks!

- Ray.

So simply put, you want to turn your HT1000 into a VHF MT2000 using a controller from an MTX8000?

Sure you can do that, it's a very easy upgrade...

Better yet, get a $40.00(shipped) top display housing from Panter 88 and you have a dispaly. You can also swap out the channel switch to a continuous rotary and go to a 99, or 255 channel MTX838.

But as Marc said, it's very easy.

Yeah, just slap the logic board on your HT1000 and load in a lab-read MT/MTS 2000 codeplug. Should work fine.

And yeah, if you get a top display front, you can upgrade. I'm guessing you have a B3 MTX8000; those logic boards will support a top display radio.
